Villa Vignozzi

Posta nel Castello di Vinci e completamente restaurata nel Settecento, la villa fu proprietà dei Conti Masetti da Bagnano fino alla fine degli anni Trenta del Novecento, quando venne venduta agli attuali proprietari Vignozzi. L'edificio è così descritto in un documento settecentesco: "Una villa da padrone … con due orti e suo prato". Dalla grande terrazza si gode una splendida vista del Castello, del Montalbano e del paesaggio collinare circostante. Una veduta di Vinci, con il Castello, la chiesa di S. Croce e la Villa Vignozzi, era riprodotta sulla vecchia banconota da 50.000 lire.

Located within the walls of Vinci castle and completely restored in the 18th century, the villa was the property of the Masetti da Bagnano counts until the end of the 1930s, when the property was sold to its present owners, the Vignozzi family. In an 18th-century document the building is described as: "A lordly villa […] with two gardens and a lawn". The terrace affords a splendid view of the castle, of the Montalbano area and of the surrounding countryside. A view of Vinci and its castle together with the church of Santa Croce and Villa Vignozzi, was reproduced on the back of the 50,000 lire banknote in circulation in the 1960s.
