Palazzo Martellini

Il palazzo di origine quattrocentesca, di cui si conserva al piano terreno un bel portico tamponato, venne modificato sia nella facciata che negli interni nel XVIII secolo. Questi vennero arricchiti da affreschi, grisailles, e soffitti decorati. Sul retro del palazzo si sviluppa un cortile lastricato in pietra ed un "giardino all'italiana" con aiuole delimitate da vialetti e siepi di bosso. Nell'androne d'ingresso che introduce al giardino si può ammirare un bell'affresco tardo settecentesco. Sopra il portone d'ingresso è posto lo stemma cinquecentesco dei Martellini, accanto al quale furono aggiunti in epoca successiva quelli dei Biondi e dei Montini.

This palace, built in the 15th century, retains its original ground-floor portico. Alterations were made in the 18th century to the façade and to the interior, which was embellished with frescoes, grisailles and decorated ceilings. At the back of the building is a stone-flagged courtyard and an Italian-style garden, with flower-beds among pathways and box hedges. The entranceway through which the garden is reached has an admirable 18th-century fresco. Above the entrance door hangs the 16th-century crest of the Martellini family, alongside which those of the Biondi and Montini families were later placed.
