La casa, costruita alla metà del '700 dalla famiglia Cardosi Carrara come villa di campagna, divenne abitazione di Giovanni Pascoli dal 1895 al 1912. L'edificio conserva la struttura, gli arredi, la disposizione degli spazi che aveva al momento della morte del poeta. Nello studio al piano primo piano sono conservati i sui libri, al piano terreno i sui manoscritti. Annessa alla villa sorge la cappella dove Pascoli è sepolto. Nel giardino, di struttura settecentesca, si trovano diversi alberi: cipressi, messi a dimora dallo stesso poeta, oltre a tassi, glicini, alberi da frutta e vitigni.
This villa, built in the mid-18th century by the Cardosi Carrara family as a country residence, was the home of the Italian poet Giovanni Pascoli from 1895 to 1912. The building retains the structure, the furnishings and the layout it had at the time of Pascoli's death. His collection of books is kept in the first-floor study, while his manuscripts are downstairs. Next to the villa stands the chapel where the poet is buried. A wide variety of trees and plants are to be found in the garden, which is structured in the typical style of the 18th century. Species include cypresses (introduced into the garden by Giovanni Pascoli), yew trees and wisteria, as well as fruit trees and vines.
