Giardino di Daniel Spoerri

Daniel Spoerri, figura eclettica nel panorama artistico contemporaneo, ha lavorato come ballerino, coreografo, mimo, poeta, scrittore. Inventore della "Eat art" Spoerri è universalmente conosciuto per i suoi "tableaux pièges". Dopo aver vissuto a New York, a Simi isoletta greca del Dodecanneso, a Dusseldorf, Parigi ed in altri parti del mondo, cimentandosi nelle esperienze più disparate, nella seconda metà degli anni '90 approda al piccolo paese di Seggiano dando vita al progetto di un parco-museo di sculture ed istallazioni. Il percorso, all'interno dei 15 ettari di parco, si dipana fra ampi spazi erbosi e boschetti con un andamento apparentemente casuale; le opere d'arte contemporanea si dispongono in ordine sparso integrandosi e mimetizzandosi nel paesaggio. Oltre al percorso scultoreo esiste anche un percorso botanico in cui molte piante sono contraddistinte da un cartellino che ne sottolinea la specie e le curiosità. La Fondazione "Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri: Hic Terminus Haeret", ha sede nell'abitazione laboratorio di Daniel Spoerri, questa oltre alla gestione del parco-museo, prevede la possibilità di soggiorno per motivi di studio e ricerca per tutti coloro che operano nell'ambito della creatività artistica. Oltre alle opere di Daniel Spoerri nel giardino sono esposte molte opere di suoi amici artisti tra cui: Eva Aeppli, Arman, Till Augustin, Ay-o, Roberto Barni, Erik Dietman, Katharina Duwen, Karl Gerstner, Luciano Ghersi , Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Alfonso Hüppi, Juliane Kühn, Zoltan Ludwig Kruse, Bernhard Luginbühl, Ursi Luginbühl, Birgit Neumann, Luigi Mainolfi, Meret Oppenheim, Dieter Roth , Susanne Runge, Uwe Schloen, Kimitake Sato, Pavel Schmidt, Esther Seidel, Patrick Steiner, Jesus Rafael Soto, Paul Talman, André Thomkins, Jean Tinguely, Roland Topor, Paul Wiedmer.

Eclectic contemporary artist Daniel Spoerri has worked as a dancer, choreographer, mime artist, poet and writer. As the inventor of "Eat Art", Spoerri is known internationally for his tableaux pièges. After having lived in New York, on the tiny Greek island of Simi in the Dodecanese, in Düsseldorf, Paris as well as other parts of the world, involving himself in a whole range of different experiences, Spoerri came to the little town of Seggiano in the second half of the 1990s, where he began work on the installations for a new sculpture park museum project. The contemporary works of art, dotted around the 15-hectare park in an apparently random sequence in the broad grassy areas and copses, blend in with their surroundings so well as to seem camouflaged. In addition to admiring the sculptures, visitors can also go on a botanical tour of the estate: the various trees and plants are accompanied by descriptions of species and their particular qualities. The "Giardino di Daniel Spoerri: Hic Terminus Haeret" Foundation is based in Daniel Spoerri's workshop home, from which he not only runs the museum-park, but also offers study and research stays for all those involved in artistic research and experimentation.
